Theatre Severn opening & Sophie's Puppy

Sophie was invited to the opening of Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury. Prince Edward was very good in opening the theatre. Sophie met him and gave him two commerative bears for his children. If Judy who took pictures on the day could get in touch we would love to publish a photo.

Since being very, very young, Sophie has always wanted a puppy. She has dozens of cuddly toy dogs. She now has a puppy. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who she has called Cody.

Message from Sophie's Mum and Dad

Sophie was on Midlands Today last Friday. Here is the link:

We have been filming a new documentary for BBC Inside Out, they are coming to finish filming us on Saturday. They are following up a story they did on Sophie 2 years ago. We think they expect to show it in February.

Now she has completed her chemotherapy treatment and is back in school, she wants to live a normal life and doesn't want her blog to become boring.

We will add posts to the blog with news and some pictures every few months to keep those people who've followed her story updated on her progress.

On both ours and Sophie's behalf, thank you to everyone who has given their comments of support; many of you have become friends to us and I'm sure you will keep in touch.

If we don't have your email address already, then please post it as a comment. This will not be published.

Friday 2nd January 2009

Hi everyone,

On Christmas morning, I got up at half past seven. Santa brought me Wii Fit, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Super Mario Karts for my Wii, a Beatrix Potter book, a bracelet and some books.

I got six Me to You (Tatty Teddy) ornaments and some money. I really liked my presents. Thank you to anyone who sent me a present.

We went to Nana and Gramps's for Christmas dinner, it was really nice.

Then we played some games. In one game, we put famous people's names on our heads and had to guess who we were. I was Simon Cowell. Nana was Father Christmas and Jenny was Shrek and they couldn't guess who they were for a long time.

In the evening, I watched the new Wallace and Gromit, a Matter of Loaf and Death on TV.

On Boxing Day, we stayed at home and I played on Wii Fit. Mum made us another Christmas dinner.

On Sunday, Mum, Dad and me went to town for some fresh air. With the money I got for Christmas, I bought two more Me to You ornaments and when I got home I ordered a green Ipod Nano.

On New Years Eve, we went to our friend's Mark and Judy for a party. It was fancy dress as Cowboys and Indians. We played lots of games. In one game we had to eat doughnuts off a string and the first one to eat all the doughnut won. We all had a go.

We then had a game where you had to run around the house and find things, but I tripped up and hurt my wrist. It really, really hurt and Mum and Dad took me to hospital. We were there at midnight. I had an X Ray, but I was OK. Thank you to Mark for driving us to the hospital and picking us up.

Thank you for supporting my blog and a Happy New Year.

Sunday 14th December 2008

Last Sunday, it was mum's 40th birthday. I gave her a diary and a book by Julie Walters, who was in Mamma Mia. In the afternoon Mum, Dad, Tom and me went to Ask for a meal. I had Spaghetti Carbonara. It was really nice. Then Mum, Dad and me went to the pantomime. We had a good day.

On Thursday, Nana and me went to a hotel near East Midlands airport with the When you wish upon a star charity. They held a party for all the children going to Lapland.

The next day we got up early because there was a coach coming at quarter past four to take us to the airport. When we got there we met two of the Gladiators from the TV show.

When we got to Lapland, there was loads of snow and the temperature was -7 degrees.

First, we went to a forest where we did all the activities.

I went on the husky sleigh ride and a reindeer sleigh ride.

After that we went to a restaurant for something to eat, then Santa came and gave everyone a present. We got on the coach to go to a shopping village.

Later that night we flew back to England and stayed at the hotel for another night. We had a good time and thank you to the people from the When you wish upon a star charity.

Last night was the X Factor Final, I wanted Alexandra to win. I voted for her twice. I was pleased she won and I like her single Hallelujah.

Saturday 6th December 2008

Last week, I got a postcard from Sheila and Jim from Wales, who were on holiday in Tenerife. They were at exactly the same hotel I went to when I was 2. We had a really good time there, there was a great slide in the pool. Mum and dad said that all the holiday I kept jumping in the pool with my armbands on, then swimming off.

Last weekend, me, mum and dad went to Milletts to get me some warm clothes for going to Lapland next week. I got boots, trousers and gloves. I'm going next Friday and I'm very excited.

On Monday, a councillor, Mr Jetson came round with tickets for the preview night of the pantomime. So on Tuesday, me and mum went to see Robin Hood at the Music Hall. It was very good, but I was very tired by the end.

On Thursday, I led my first meeting as chairperson of the school council. We talked about loads of different things.

Yesterday was the school Christmas Fayre and I volunteered to be on Year 6 games stall.

This afternoon, me and dad decorated the house with banners saying "40 and Fabulous" ready for mum's birthday tomorrow.
